Hi,

I am a company director and am looking at buying a house as a first time buyer. I am looking to buy with my girlfriend who will be putting a very good deposit into the deal, while I will be looking for a mortgage. As I am a director of a company, does anyone know whether our house would be at risk if the worst was to happen and the company went bust? i.e. could it be repossessed or would it simply be a case of getting another job to cover the mortgage repayments? Obviously my girlfriend is a little nervous as she is stumping up so much of a deposit.

Any advice thoroughly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Tony.

Hi Tony,

I'm looking into this one. It could be case that there are risks there, but it may not, depending on a few variables. I will get back to you with a more concrete answer.

Alternatively, if you need a quicker answer, contact an independent mortgage broker who should be able to help.
